The advantage of client-server architecture: Since you work off of a local database that contains everything you need to access, you’re not at the mercy of an internet connection, even if you have more than one store. Also, since we don’t use single-server terminal-login architecture, your outlay for expensive servers goes away and terminal licensing expense is very limited. There is no limit the number of concurrent users.
Agilis is a modern Windows-based system. It is easy to use by those who already use windows systems and easy to learn for those who don't. The amount of effort it takes to use a mouse or keyboard and the quickness with which you can get around within Agilis is amazing, especially once you’re familiar with the tools you use on a regular basis. Usually after the first day of training, people new to the system are zipping around within the operations and accounting applications without any trouble.
If done properly, a controlled functional organization can make your staff far more efficient. The degree to which you define labor task responsibility and control access to data, determines the level of focus at which your people will complete the tasks assigned to a given department. Access to data not relevant to a particular job will reduce productivity and make an otherwise efficient business management system less productive.

Management can control a wide variety of configuration settings at the company and/or store level, from how parts can be added to a work order, to the number of passwords required to make general ledger entries in a prior accounting period.
Security Access Control:

- Security Access is controlled by individual user ID
- Grant read-write, read-only, or no access at all.
- Electronic fingerprinting throughout the system for tracking who did
what and when. - Various modules have password protections as an added level of
security.
Need To Know (NTK) Task Management:
- AGILIS has the ability to alert users whenever certain events occur
within the system - Alerts can be sent via fax, email or text message.
- NTK notifications can be setup by individuals and groups.
